Brittni Piercey

Veterinary Assistant
What inspired me to go into the veterinary industry was my passion for animal care. I always had animals growing up, and they were there for me when I needed someone the most. I also had a strong passion for biology and learning. I knew from a really early age that I wanted to be a part of this industry one way or another. I graduated from Eastern College with a diploma as a Veterinary Assistant in October 2008. I decided to join the Clayton Park Vet team in June of 2011. I admired all of the staff and wonderful veterinarians at the clinic and had recently completed the vet assistant course. Living close to the clinic was also a perk! An area of the veterinary industry that interests me is nutrition. I love the satisfaction I receive when I hear from pet owners how thankful they are for the care I have provided to their pet, as pets are a part of the family. Especially during those difficult times, I am constantly reminded that I am meant to be in this profession because of how much compassion and care I have for their furry family members. Fun fact about me is that I was a trail guide at a horse stable for seven years and competed in horse shows barrel racing for many years. Also, my first pet was a Cocker Spaniel named Coco.
