Tell us a little about yourself. Why did you decide to go into the veterinary field? What year did you graduate? I have wanted to work with animals since I was little. I have volunteered at the SPCA, been a dog walker and pet sitter, as well as some dog grooming. I have an interest in science and medicine, so I went to school for my Bachelor of Science, getting a major in Animal Science with a minor in Animal Welfare, then I returned to school to obtain my Veterinary Technician Diploma and graduated in May 2017. When did you join the clinic? Sept 2017 What area of veterinary medicine interests you the most? My main area of interests in veterinary medicine are animal behaviour and dentistry. What do you love about your job? I love that every day I am learning something new and seeing a bright new smile on patients after they have had a dental cleaning. What’s your favourite thing about the clinic? My favourite thing about the clinic is working with a great team of people who are passionate about the well-being of our patients and getting more hands-on experience with exotic pets. Tell us a fun fact about yourself? A fun fact about myself is my first job was at a pet store and it was where I learned the importance to educate pet owners on proper pet care and where I became passionate about a future working with animals. What was your first pet? My first pet was a cat named Sassy, who I named after the cat in the Homeward Bound movie.
