Having your cat spayed or neutered is an important factor in controlling the overpopulation of cats. This means fewer cats ending up in shelters waiting for homes. It is also a crucial factor in the overall health and behaviour of your feline friend.

What is spaying or neutering?

Spaying or neutering your cat removes their reproductive organs so they cannot reproduce. It can affect their behaviour by reducing the amount of hormones in their system.

When should I neuter/spay my cat?

We recommend spaying or neutering your cat around six months of age.

What is the procedure to spay/neuter a cat?

A cat neuter is performed under heavy sedation, that can be reversed once the testicles have been removed. A spay is a more invasive procedure that requires a full general anesthetic as we have to open the abdomen to remove the female reproductive organs.
