Tips to Help Prepare Your Cat for the Veterinarian

Here are some tips that can help make your pet prepped and ready to head to the veterinarian for the first time!

  • Respect that your cats need for time to become familiar with new surroundings.
  • Stay calm; cats can sense our anxiety, which in turn, can make them anxious.
  • Give rewards to encourage positive behaviour.
  • Make the carrier a familiar place at home, by leaving it in a room where they spend a lot of time.
  • Place familiar soft bedding inside of the carrier, a familiar scent makes them feel more secure.
  • Place treats catnip or toys inside to encourage them to enter.
