DVH Adoptable: Bear (Wilson Fisk)

Hello everyone,

I’m Bear (AKA – Wilson Fisk, Mack Truck and many other nicknames). I came to live at Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital after my loving parents passed away, and my new owners sadly couldn’t take care of me. The lovely people at DVH were willing to give me a second chance at a new life!

Being an old man of 12 years, I do have some special needs. I came to DVH as morbidly obese, and with this comes a few medical issues:

  • I have very bad arthritis from carrying around the extra pounds for so long, and a slight arch in my back when walking. The wonderful humans at Full Circle Veterinary Alternatives have been providing me with acupuncture to help with arthritis and pain. I will also be doing my workouts on the water treadmill soon!
  • I have a history of urinary issues, having had a UTI since living at DVH amongst other concerns.

When I first came here I had a full dental cleaning done, so my teeth are nice and clean.

I am a VERY friendly guy and love to snuggle. Whether it’s while you’re watching TV, or if you want to have a cuddle nap, I’m game! I don’t take long to warm up to other cats or even dogs in a new home. I desperately want to make new friends, especially with other cats!

I have to eat a special diet due to my medical history. I eat the Urinary SO + Satiety Support from Royal Canin and will chase you if you aren’t right on time with feeding me breakfast and dinner.

If you are interested in me as your new roommate, please call (902-434- 0700) or email (info.dv@petfocus.ca) my friends at the Dartmouth Veterinary Hospital.
