How often do my kittens need vaccines?

Typically kittens, like children, need a series of vaccines to help build their immune system. This will often consist of 3 sets of vaccines given a month apart and starting around 8 weeks of age. This can vary between kittens, as some may require more or less.

Does my kitten need only core vaccines?

After evaluating your cat’s particular situation and risk factors, our veterinarians may also recommend vaccination against other infectious diseases. One example could be Feline Leukemia or (FeLV) which is a viral infection that can be transmitted from cat to cat through bodily fluids (grooming, cat fights). Once a cat contracts the virus, it cannot be cured, but keeping a cat current on his vaccinations can prevent disease associated with FeLV and although it’s considered a non-core vaccine, this vaccine is highly recommended by the American Association of Feline Practitioners for all kittens.
