Euthanasia is a difficult time. Understanding the process of what it is and how to talk about it can make this time easier. Booking an appointment with your veterinarian can help you discuss what your options are and the best way to approach it.

What is pet euthanasia and how do I know when it’s the right time?

Euthanasia is the humane way to end the suffering of your pet. The right time is different for each patient. It could be the quality of life is no longer there or your pet is suffering from a painful issue or disease. The best way to know the right time is to have that conversation with your veterinarian.

What drug is used?

The drug that is used for euthanasia is Euthansol. It is an overdose of anesthetic. In some cases, a medication is used beforehand to sedate your pet to make the process less stressful.

What is the cost of euthanasia?

You can contact us at any time and we can get you a price that meets your needs as there are many different options to choose from for aftercare.

Does the clinic also provide bereavement counselling?

Our clinic does not have a counselor on staff. PetsPlusUs (insurance company) does offer a phone in service that is available at a cost.
