Camping with Your Dog

Here are some tips for camping with your dog:

  • Find a campsite that is pet-friendly.
  • Ensure your dog’s vaccinations and flea and tick medications are up to date! It’s a good idea to have copies of your vaccination records just in case you need them while away.
  • Ensure your dog has an up to date license and ID tags (and having your dog microchipped is a great idea as well).
  • Pack a Pet First Aid Kit.
  • Bring a leash and something to tie your dog up to.
  • Pack portable water and food bowls. Be sure to remove any leftover dog food after mealtime, and store in a place which will not attract unwanted wildlife and insects.
  • Ensure your pet has a bed and safe place to sleep with you while you are camping.
  • And of course, don’t forget the poop bags.
  • Have fun!
